The Goldman Sachs Group has announced that CFO David Viniar plans to retire at the end of January 2013 and will join the board as a nonindependent director then. He will be succeeded by Harvey Schwartz, global co-head of the securities division.
Karen Dykstra has been named to lead the finance function at AOL. She replaces Artie Minson Jr., who was promoted to chief operating officer earlier this year. Dykstra, previously a partner at Plainfield Asset Management LLC, has been a member of AOL’s board of directors since 2009.
Terrance Paradie has been promoted to the top finance spot at Cliffs Natural Resources Inc., effective October 1. Paradie, now assistant general manager – Michigan operations, takes over from Laurie Brias, current CFO and executive vice president, finance and administration, who has been promoted to president – global operations.
Retailer Eddie Bauer LLC has named Daniel Templin CFO and chief operating officer. As CFO, he succeeds Marv Toland, who moves to the newly created position of senior vice president direct. Templin joins the company from VF Outdoor, where he also was finance chief.
Thomas Seifert will resign as head of finance at Advanced Micro Devices Inc., effective September 28. Devinder Kumar, who has been corporate controller since 2001, will become interim CFO while a search for Seifert’s permanent replacement is under way.
Daktronics Inc. has promoted Sheila Anderson to become its next finance chief and treasurer. She succeeds Bill Retterath, who recently left the firm. Anderson has been at the electronic-display manufacturer since 2002 and has been corporate controller since 2006.
Jennifer Felix has been named to lead the finance function at Sotera Defense Solutions. She is a former corporate controller at Vangent Inc. and a former vice president of finance at Deltek Inc.
Alion Science and Technology Corp. has appointed Barry Broadus to the top finance spot. Broadus, who has been at the company since 2008, has been acting CFO since April.
High-performance alloy manufacturer and marketer Haynes International Inc. has promoted Daniel Maudlin to the posts of CFO and vice president – finance, effective December 1. He replaces Marcel Martin, who is retiring on November 30. Maudlin is now controller and chief accounting officer.
Andrew Keenan, head of finance at online-backup provider Carbonite Inc., plans to resign from the company, effective January 31, 2013. A search is under way for his successor.
