Daniel Malzahn has been promoted to the top finance spot at homebuilder and mortgage-banking company NVR Inc. He takes over from Dennis Sereme, who has retired. Malzahn has worked at the firm since 1994, most recently as vice president of business planning and investor relations.

Medical and surgical supplies distributor Owens & Minor has named Richard Meier CFO, effective March 1. Previously, he led the finance function at Teleflex Inc.

Altair Engineering has appointed Howard Morof to head finance. Morof, a member of the board of directors for the past two years, formerly was CFO of North American Bancard.

Susan Story has been selected as the next finance chief at American Water Works, effective April 1. She replaces Ellen Wolf, who announced her retirement last month. Story is now executive vice president of Southern Co.

Mueller Industries has named Jeffrey Martin CFO and treasurer. Martin has been interim CFO at the copper tube and fittings manufacturer since October. Before that, he was vice president of corporate development.

Catherine Stubbs has been promoted to finance chief at gas and oil exploration and production firm Endeavour International Corp. Previously, she was senior vice president, finance.

Enterprise-mobility and wireless-applications provider DecisionPoint Systems has named Dave Goodman to the top finance spot. He is a former CFO and COO of Mercury Capital Advisors.
