Timothy Pistell is retiring from his roles as executive vice president – finance and administration and CFO at Parker Hannifin Corp. after 41 years at the company. Controller Jon Marten has been promoted to succeed him, effective immediately; Pistell will stay on at the control and motion technologies manufacturer as executive vice president until March 31, 2011, to aid in the transition.
Biopharmaceutical firm Acceleron Pharma Inc. has named Kevin McLaughlin to lead the finance function. Previously, he headed finance at Qteros Inc.
Lori Varlas has been named CFO and secretary of Central Garden & Pet Co. She takes over from Stuart Booth, who will stay on as an adviser to the company. Most recently, Varlas was vice president finance-enterprise resources at Sun Microsystems.
Digital Lumens Inc. has appointed Mike Rubino to the top finance spot. He joins the developer of LED-based intelligent lighting systems from A123 Systems, where he was CFO and vice president of finance and administration.
Software-as-a-service company Medallia Inc. has named Andy Chmyz as its new finance chief. Most recently, he was chief operating officer of Concentric Medical.
BioScrip Inc., a home care and pharmacy products and services provider, has selected David Froesel Jr. as its new CFO and treasurer. He replaces Stanley Rosenbaum, who is leaving the company. Formerly, Froesel was CFO of Omnicare from 1996 until his retirement last year.
William Benz has been named to lead the finance function at nuclear-services company EnergySolutions Inc. Benz has been interim CFO since September; before that, he was a partner at Tatum LLC.
Biolase Technology Inc. has appointed Frederick Furry to head finance. He joins the dental laser firm from Windes & McClaughry, where he was a partner.
