AmeriQuest Business Services has promoted Mark Joyce to the top finance spot. He has been at AmeriQuest since 2006 when the leasing division of AmeriQuest Transportation Services merged with NationaLease, where he was CFO.

Dennis Secor has resigned as CFO of retailer Guess Inc., effective December 7. Treasurer and vice president of finance & accounting Nigel Kershaw will become interim CFO at that time.

Orbitz Worldwide Inc. has named Mitch Marcus to lead the finance function. He takes over from interim CFO David Belmont, who will return to his post as group vice president, financial planning and analysis. Marcus joins the online travel firm from Sara Lee, where he was senior vice president, treasurer.

Finance chief Sergio Rial is resigning from Cargill Inc., effective at the end of the month. President and chief operating officer David MacLennan will add to his responsibilities by becoming interim CFO until a permanent replacement for Rial is elected by the board of directors.

R. Scott Donovan has been named to head finance at holding company HealthMarkets Inc. He is a former executive vice president of Odyssey Reinsurance Corp. and a former executive vice president and CFO of Odyssey Re Holdings Corp.

Asure Software Inc. has appointed Jennifer Crow to lead the finance function. She joins the firm from Active Power Inc., where she was director of finance.

Pete Childs has been named CFO at cloud-based event-management provider Cvent Inc. Most recently, he was chief accounting officer at Towers Watson.

Online home-furnishings retailer Bari Furniture has appointed Bryan Semmens to the top finance spot. Previously, he was CFO at Archetype LLC.

Lori Walker plans to retire as head of finance at The Valspar Corp. once her replacement has been announced. She joined the paint manufacturer as assistant controller in 2000 and was named CFO in 2008.

Fallbrook Technologies Inc. has named John Penver as its next finance chief. He is a former CFO, vice president of finance, and secretary of Active Power Inc.
