Real estate investment trust Douglas Emmett Inc. has named CFO William Kamer to be its next chief investment officer, effective January 1. Principal accounting officer Theodore Guth will succeed Kamer in the top finance spot.

Finance chief David Sommers has been promoted to executive vice chairman at NetScout Systems Inc. Chief accounting officer and vice president, finance, Jean Bua will take over for Sommers.

Catalyst Pharmaceutical Partners Inc. has promoted Alicia Grande, chief accounting officer and corporate controller, to the posts of CFO and treasurer, effective December 16. As CFO, she replaces Jack Weinstein, who is leaving the company.

CVR Energy Inc. has named Frank Pici to the top finance spot, effective January 4. He is a former CFO of Penn Virginia Corp., Penn Virginia Resource Partners LP, and Penn Virginia GP Holdings LP.

Greg Waller has been appointed to lead the finance function at medical-device firm Ulthera Inc., a newly created position. He joins the company from Universal Building Products, where he also headed finance.
