Edward Liu
Healthcare marketplace Zocdoc appointed Edward Liu as chief financial officer. Liu has spent more than two decades at Morgan Stanley, where he was formerly head of Americas technology banking. At Morgan Stanley, he provided counsel to C-Suite executives and board members on strategic and financing decisions. His experience includes advising clients on hundreds of transactions for internet and software companies such as Akamai, Chewy, Datadog, Draftkings, Etsy, Grubhub, HomeAway, Indeed, Kayak, Meituan, and MongoDB. Liu advised Red Hat on its $35 billion sale to IBM, the largest enterprise software transaction in history. He was also a member of the investment committee of Morgan Stanley’s Multicultural Innovation Lab, an in-house startup accelerator.
Lockheed Martin CFO Kenneth Possenriede has decided to retire immediately due to personal reasons.Vice president and treasurer John Mollard has been appointed acting CFO. In his almost four decades at the aerospace company, Mollard has held several positions of increasing responsibility within the finance and business operations team, including the past five years as the corporate treasurer.
Margaret Vo Schaus
The Senate confirmed Margaret Vo Schaus as chief financial officer of NASA. The White House nominated Vo Schaus for the position on April 23 and she was sworn in on Wednesday. She most recently was the director for business operations in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for research and engineering, where she is responsible for oversight of a multibillion-dollar budget. Over the past decade, she has held several leadership roles with responsibility for the financial management and business operations of science and engineering organizations at the Departments of Energy and Defense.
Healthcare fintech platform Cedar named Krishna Rao as the company’s first finance chief. Rao most recently was global head of corporate and business development at Airbnb. In this role, he led and supported financings totaling over $10 billion in equity and debt capital, including the company’s IPO last year, and led Airbnb’s acquisition and partnership activity globally. Before that, Rao worked as an investor in Blackstone’s private equity group and at Bain & Company as a management and strategy consultant.
Renee Gaeta
Eko, a cardiopulmonary digital health company, appointed Renee Gaeta as CFO. Gaeta was previously finance chief and member of the executive team at Establishment Labs Holdings, where she played a key role in the company’s IPO and follow-on offering. Before that, she was vice president, corporate controller, and executive team member at Sientra. In this role, she was instrumental in preparing the company during its pre-IPO stage and establishing compliant systems and controls. She also played a key role in the company’s IPO and follow-on offering. Previously, Gaeta spent ten years with KPMG, rising through the organization to the role of director of transaction and restructuring.
Chris Finn was named the new finance chief at Forrester, effective September 13. Finn joins the research and advisory firm from LogMeIn, where he led FP&A and procurement as vice president. Before that, he was CFO of the $1 billion healthcare division at Nuance Communications. He has also held leadership positions in finance at Progress Software, First Wind, and Monster Worldwide.
Steve Cook
Digital care company Omada Health hired Steve Cook as chief financial officer. Cook was formerly vice president and head of strategic finance at One Medical. While at One Medical, he helped lead the company through a $350 million growth equity round by The Carlyle Group as well as a successful IPO and acquisition of Iora Health. Cook previously worked at Salesforce on its strategic finance team.
Living Essentials, the makers of 5-Hour Energy, appointed Shawn McCue as CFO. McCue previously served as the director of finance at Transtar Industries, a U.S. distributor of transmission repair parts. Over 24 years, he has held executive finance and leadership roles at Lakeshore Toltest and was director of M&A transaction services at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Margot Moellenberg
On-demand staffing platform Wonolo hired Margot Moellenberg as its first finance chief. Moellenberg was most recently president and chief operating officer at Four Winds Interactive, a role she grew into after joining the company as CFO. Before that, she was COO of Western Union Business Solutions, where she oversaw operations for the company’s B2B division including the global payments platform, foreign exchange risk management, as well as international pension and payroll transactions. Moellenberg also held leadership positions at Intelisys, Qwest Communications, US West, and TeleTech.
Koppers Holdings CFO Michael Zugay will retire from the carbon compound and wood treatment manufacturer on December 31. Zugay has served as chief financial officer of Koppers since 2014. The company will promote Jimmi Sue Smith to CFO on January 1, 2022. Since February 2020, Smith has served as vice president of finance and treasurer at Koppers.
