Six months after narrowing its focus to finance and accounting, Adopt AI says inbound demand has grown 55x and that effectively all of its current recurring revenue was added after the change.
Adopt AI relaunched its website and positioning around a single job: AI agents that execute finance and accounting work end-to-end inside the systems a company already uses. The move follows a mid-year decision to narrow the company's scope from general-purpose agents to finance operations, after which inbound demand and revenue grew faster than at any point in the company's history.
Adopt AI's agents perform the recurring work of a finance team - month-end close, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reporting, bookkeeping, and tax preparation - by operating directly across a customer's existing ERP, banking, billing, and spreadsheet tools. Finance staff review, approve, and handle exceptions rather than doing the work themselves. The company also offers the same agents, paired with its own accountants and tax experts, to businesses that have no finance team at all.
The repositioning is a deliberate narrowing. Adopt AI previously built agents that could act across many enterprise systems; its patented ZAPI technology discovers a system's API and generates a working connector in under 24 hours, including for systems that have never been integrated before. The company concluded that the technology was most valuable where the work is highest-volume, most rules-based, and most painful to staff: finance operations.
Adopt started by helping companies build agents for any workflow in any application. "When we looked at what our customers asked us to build, most of it was finance: reconciliations, bookkeeping, the close" said Deepak Anchala, co-founder and CEO of Adopt AI
"The moment we said 'we only do finance,' everything got easier. Buyers understood us in one sentence, the product roadmap wrote itself, and the pipeline filled with people who had the exact problem we solve. Narrowing down was the best growth decision we have made."
Since the change, Adopt AI reports that inbound leads have grown 55x, qualified demos now run at more than hundred a month, and the company is closing new customers every week. Customers span mid-market companies, accounting and advisory firms that deploy the agents for their clients, and businesses using Adopt AI as their finance function. Typical results cited by the company include a close that finishes in hours rather than weeks, no additional headcount or software required, and real-time visibility into cash.
Anchala, a CFA charterholder who spent his early career in investment banking before founding Slintel (acquired by 6sense), said the new website reflects how customers actually buy. "The old site explained a platform. The new site shows the work getting done - a close, a reconciliation, an AP run - and what it costs. That is what a CFO wants to see."
The company says its near-term priority is converting the inbound demand it already has rather than expanding marketing spend, and that it expects to add sales capacity in the coming quarter. Longer term, Adopt AI intends for its agents to run the full back office for its customers, with the finance team acting as reviewers and decision-makers rather than operators.
Controllers can send Adopt their messiest reconciliation from a closed month and get the finished work back, run on their own data, within days. Or start for free.
Adopt AI builds AI agents that execute finance and accounting work end-to-end - close, reconciliations, AP, AR, reporting, bookkeeping, and tax - across the systems a company already runs. Finance teams use it to close faster with the team they have; businesses without a finance team use it, with Adopt AI's accountants and tax experts, as their finance function. Adopt raised a $6 million seed round from Elevation Capital, Powerhouse Ventures, Foster Ventures, and Darkmode. It is based in San Jose, with teams in Bengaluru, Brazil, and Toronto.
