Ruth Porat | Alphabet
Alphabet chief financial officer Ruth Porat will take on the newly created role of president and chief investment officer for Alphabet and Google, effective Sept. 1. Porat, hired in 2015, is the company’s longest serving finance chief. She will continue as CFO and lead 2024 planning while the company looks for her successor. Porat joined the company from Morgan Stanley, where she was CFO. In her new role, she will be responsible for the company’s “other bets” portfolio, its unit for experimental ventures such as the self-driving car company Waymo and delivery drone service Wing. She will also help manage the company’s global investments.
Luka Mucic | Vodafone
Former SAP finance chief Luka Mucic was appointed to the same role at European and African telecoms group Vodafone, effective Sept. 1. Mucic started his career at the software company in 1996 and was chief financial officer of SAP for eight years before leaving this past March. Mucic takes over finance from Margherita Della Valle, who has juggled the roles of CEO and CFO for the last seven months. Della Valle was CFO of Vodafone for five years before being named CEO in January.
Eimear Bonner | Chevron
Chevron named Eimear Bonner as the company’s next finance chief, effective March 1, 2024. Bonner joined Chevron in 1998 and is currently vice president, chief technology officer, and president of the Chevron Technical Center. Over her 24-year career at the company, she has held several leadership and engineering positions in the United Kingdom, Thailand, Kazakhstan, and the United States. Bonner succeeds Pierre Breber, who will retire in 2024 after working at the company for 35 years.
Alexandra Brooks | Hertz
Hertz interim CFO Alexandra Brooks will take on the role permanently. Brooks has been interim CFO of the rental car company since April 2023 and chief accounting officer since 2020. Before joining Hertz, Brooks was vice president of internal audit at Aptiv, CFO of Champion Windows and Home Exteriors, and held leadership roles at General Electric and General Motors.
Diego Reynoso | Boston Beer
Diego Reynoso will take over as chief financial officer and treasurer of Boston Beer on Sept. 5. Reynoso was most recently CFO of the prepared foods division of food manufacturer Tyson Foods. He previously was chief financial officer of the beer division at Constellation Brands and held various senior financial and operational roles at spirits company Beam Suntory. Earlier in his career, he held roles at Allied-Domecq, Danone, and Procter & Gamble.
Donny Lau | Zaxby's
Zaxby's, a chain of fast-casual chicken restaurants, hired Donny Lau as CFO. Lau joined the company from Dollar General, where he was senior vice president of finance and chief strategy officer. Before that, he held numerous roles at Yum! Brands and played a lead role in the 2016 spin-off of Yum! China into a publicly traded company.
Eva Boratto | Bath & Body Works
Eva Boratto was named chief financial officer of personal products maker Bath & Body Works. Boratto was previously CFO of life sciences company Opentrons Labworks, and, before that, worked at CVS Health for 11 years, most recently as executive vice president and chief financial officer. She spent 20 years working at Merck in roles with increasing responsibility, including vice president and U.S. market finance leader. Boratto succeeds Wendy Arlin, who is leaving the company.
Jason Marino | Marriott Vacations Worldwide
Marriott Vacations Worldwide promoted Jason Marino to CFO to replace Anthony Terry, who is retiring. Marino, who has worked at the company for nearly a decade, is currently senior vice president of strategy, FP&A, and operational finance — vacation ownership. Before joining the company, he was managing director and head of business development and corporate finance at Cantor Commercial Real Estate and director of real estate investment banking at Credit Suisse Securities.
Curt VanHyfte | Taylor Morrison
Homebuilding company Taylor Morrison appointed Curt VanHyfte as its new finance chief and executive vice president. VanHyfte has been interim CFO of Taylor Morrison since May and joined the company in 2020 through its acquisition of William Lyon Homes. He worked at the homebuilding company PulteGroup for 21 years in several leadership roles, including director of finance and division president.
