- Mutual Attraction: Stilwell Financial Inc., parent of the Janus mutual fund family, said it named Daniel Connealy a former PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP partner to the new position of CFO. Until now, according to a spokesperson, COO Joseph Monello had handled CFO duties, but he left that position in October to become VP of development, the spokesman said.
- A Good Host: Internet hosting company Micron Electronics Inc. named David Buckel CFO. Buckel has served most recently as VP of corporate development of HostPro, the company’s Web hosting subsidiary. He succeeds James Stewart, whose resignation is effective June 15. Stewart is leaving to join Optical Solutions, a Minneapolis-based fiber-optic company.
- Power House: Tetra Technologies Inc., a Woodlands, Tex.- based oil and gas services company, named Joseph Abell to the CFO post. Abell takes over the finance duties from Geoffrey Hertel, who will continue as president and assume the new post of chief executive. Abell previously worked for Marubeni Power, British Gas International, and Tenneco Automotive Inc.. Tetra also said it promoted Paul Coombs to COO. Coombs most recently served as the firm’s VP of operations.
- Lightning in the Sky: Navitas Energy Inc., a Minneapolis- based independent power producer, announced the appointment of Jeffrey Skie, to the CFO position. Prior to joining Navitas Energy, Skie held executive and finance positions at Lightning Rod Software, Gelco Information Network and Apertus Technologies.
