CFOs on the Move: Week Ending Feb. 7

Walter Investment Management has selected Gary Tillett to head finance, after the company files its form 10-K for 2013. Tillett, a former adviser to the firm, most recently worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he headed the New York Metro transaction services practice.

Kevin Cook has been promoted to CFO and treasurer at Booz Allen Hamilton Holding Corp., the parent company of consultancy Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., effective July 1. He will succeed chief financial and administrative officer Samuel Strickland, who will retire on June 30. Cook is now corporate controller at the firm.

Sporting-goods retailer Sports Authority has named Jeremy Aguilar to the top finance spot. Most recently, he headed finance at hhgregg.

Stephen Farber has been chosen as the next finance chief of Kindred Healthcare. He takes over from Richard Lechleiter, who retired last month. Previously, Farber led the finance function at Tenet Healthcare.

Stainless-steel equipment manufacturer Paul Mueller Co. has announced that Marcelino Rodriguez, head of finance, has resigned, effective Feb. 20. A search is under way to replace Rodriguez, who has been CFO since he joined the company in 2011.

Dennis Hernreich has resigned as CFO and chief operating officer of retailer Destination XL Group. John Kyees, a board member who was formerly finance chief at Urban Outfitters, will become interim CFO until a permanent replacement for Hernreich is found.

Techne has named James Hippel to lead the finance function, effective April 1. He succeeds Gregory Melsen, who resigned effective earlier this month. Hippel will join the biotechnology products developer, manufacturer and seller from Mirion Technologies, where he has headed finance since 2012.

John Massari has been promoted to the top finance spot at Bloomin’ Brands International. He takes over from Mark Hutchens, who is now CFO of Papa Murphy’s International. Massari had been vice president of finance on Bloomin’ Brands’ international team.

Women’s accessories designer Vera Bradley Inc. has named Kevin Sierks its official finance chief. He had been interim CFO since January 2013.
