• Lawrence White announced he would retire from his position as CFO of Tennessee-based CBRL Group Inc., which operates the Cracker Barrel restaurant chain, in February 2008. White has worked for the company for more than eight years. He will remain in a consulting position for 18 months following his departure.
• After less than a month on the job, John Leahy, CFO for the Hanover Insurance Group, announced he will resign from the company. Leahy cited personal reasons for his departure and Hanover has announced that current CEO Frederick H. Eppinger will serve as interim CFO.
• Allegiant Travel Company announced its current finance chief, Linda A. Marvin, will resign from her position. Marvin is expected to remain with the Las Vegas-based company through the end of the month.
• High-definition TV and digital entertainment product maker Syntax-Brillian has named John S. Hodgson chief financial officer, replacing Wayne Pratt who will resign at the end of the month. Hodgson has been board and audit committee member for the company since 2003. He has also been CFO at companies such as Simula, Inc., FEI Company, and Integrated Process Equipment Corp.
• Juniper Content Corporation has appointed Herbert J. Roberts as senior vice president, chief financial officer and secretary. Roberts joins the media and entertainment company with experience from senior financial and consulting positions at companies such as Helicon Corporation and CBS, Inc.
• David N. Pilotte will be the new finance chief and executive vice president for Omniflight Helicopters Inc., replacing interim CFO Michael J. Bailey who had held the position since last October. The air medical services provider that owns 100 aircraft nationwide also recently hired a new CEO.
• Safeguard Self Storage has hired Mark B. Rinder as chief financial officer of the self-storage company. Rinder has more than 20 years of executive experience that includes serving as CFO at AirTran Airways, Chamberlin Edmonds, and Club Med, Inc. His responsibilities will be strategic and daily management of the company’s finance and accounting functions.
• Global air cargo services provider Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings announced that Jason Grant has been promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer. Grant joined the company in 2002 as manager of corporate finance and most recently served as senior vice president of network planning and business development.
• Lawrence R. Litowitz has been appointed CFO for Silverstar Holdings, the international publisher and developer of interactive entertainment software. Litowitz brings more than 30 years of experience in entrepreneurial and middle market companies, according to the company.
• Clifford L. Flowers has joined the intellectual-property licensing company, Patriot Scientific, to serve as its CFO. He replaces Thomas J. Sweeney, who served as the company’s interim finance chief for just more than two years. Flowers has managed an array of public companies in the past 18 years. He was vice president of finance and CFO at Financial Profiles, CFO at XiFin, and CFO of Previo.
• AnnTaylor Stores Corporation has appointed Michael Nicholson as CFO and executive vice president of the clothing retailer, effective immediately. Nicholson was previously CFO, executive vice president, and chief operating officer for Victoria’s Secret Beauty Company and has also held finance positions at Colgate-Palmolive Company and Altria Group.
