Walter Borst has been named to the top finance spot at holding company Navistar International Corp., effective August 1. He replaces Andrew Cederoth, whom the company previously said would be leaving. Borst joins the firm from General Motors, where he was chairman, president and CEO of GM Asset Management.
Navarre Corp., a home-entertainment and multimedia-software products distributor, has named Terry Tuttle finance chief. He succeeds Diane Lapp, who is resigning because the company headquarters is moving from Minneapolis to Dallas. Tuttle is a former partner of Weston & Tuttle, as well as a former chief operating officer of Troll Communications.
Kenneth Meyers has been appointed president and CEO of U.S. Cellular. Previously, he led the finance function at that firm’s majority owner, Telephone and Data Systems Inc.
Tessera Technologies Inc. has named John Allen acting CFO. He takes over for C. Richard Neely Jr., who has left the company. Allen has been corporate controller since December; prior to that, he was corporate controller and chief accounting officer at Corsair Components Inc.
Dialysis-product manufacturer NxStage Medical Inc. has selected Matthew Towse to head finance. He replaces Robert Brown, who has been appointed president of subsidiary NxStage Kidney Care Inc. Towse is a former CFO of Vette Corp. and of Fairchild Semiconductor International Inc.
Robert Gargus has retired from the top finance spot at Applied Micro Circuits Corp. Chief accounting officer and controller Shiva Natarajan has been named interim CFO.
Philadelphia Insurance Cos. has promoted Karen Gilmer-Pauciello to the posts of CFO and treasurer. She will also hold these titles at Philadelphia Insurance’s parent company, Tokio Marine North America Inc. Gilmer-Pauciello, who had been controller, succeeds the retiring Craig Keller.
