RingCentral appointed Sonalee Parekh as chief financial officer. Parekh joins the company from Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where she was CFO of the company’s communications technology group and led its corporate development and investor relations functions. Before that, she held several senior leadership roles at global investment banks, including Barclays Capital and Goldman Sachs.
Moderna’s CFO Jorge Gomez left the company within a day of taking over after his former employer, Dentsply Sirona, disclosed an ongoing internal investigation related to financial reporting. Moderna's recently retired chief financial officer David Meline will return to the role of CFO while it reopens its search for a new CFO.
Klaviyo hired Amanda Whalen as finance chief. Before joining the marketing automation platform, Whalen was chief financial officer of Walmart International. She was previously senior vice president and treasurer for Walmart, where she was responsible for global treasury, tax, claims administration, and the digital transformation of Walmart’s FP&A function. She takes over for board member and interim CFO Jennifer Ceran, who will remain as a member of the Board of Directors and assist with the transition.
New Western, a provider of distressed residential investment properties, hired Dipak Joshi as chief financial officer. Joshi has worked as CFO at startups FuzeBox, Milestone Internet, BitTorrent, Retail Solutions, and SightCall. He previously worked as director of acquisitions for eBay and was corporate financial controller of Google. Before joining New Western, Joshi scaled three startup ventures in the United States, in addition to building global shared services centers for Siemens. He also helped grow eBay in Switzerland, driving revenue to more than $1 billion while managing SOX compliance.
Jumio, a company that automates identity verification, named Susan Walker as chief financial officer. Walker was most recently CFO at SaaS enterprise data loss prevention company Digital Guardian through its sale to HelpSystems. Before that, she held CFO positions at video software firm Telestream and SaaS company Avention. Walker’s 25 years of leadership experience include managing an IPO and serving as CFO Americas for Novell.
Kurt Van den Bosch was appointed CFO of group finance at Johnson & Johnson MedTech. Most recently, he was area vice president, mid-size markets J&J MedTech EMEA. Van den Bosch joined Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Belgium in 1990 as part of the finance team and has held roles with increasing responsibility. Before joining J&J MedTech, he held several chief financial officer roles, including CFO of Janssen EMEA, global surgery EMEA, and medical devices EMEA.
Nathan Weems was appointed CFO at b.well Connected Health. Weems joins the company from VitalConnect, a wearable biosensor technology company. He has over two decades of experience leading finance teams in healthcare technology companies, including CFO of eClinical technology solutions company Medrio, CFO of medical equipment manufacturer VitalConnect, and senior director of finance of genetic testing company Natera. At Natera, he helped grow the company's revenue fourfold, leading to its 2015 IPO.
Freshii CFO Daniel Haroun was promoted to CEO. Haroun joined the restaurant chain in 2019 after working as vice president of finance of Walmart Canada for three years and eight years at Restaurant Brands International/Tim Hortons in progressive finance roles. Victor Diab was hired as Haroun’s replacement. Diab has more than a decade of finance and strategy experience at large Canadian public companies.
SeaWorld CFO Elizabeth Castro Gulacsy will retire by the end of the year. Gulacsy was promoted to chief financial officer in May 2021. She joined the company in 2013 and has previously served as interim CFO, chief accounting officer, and vice president of financial reporting. Gulacsy will take on a consulting role at the company once her successor is named.
Jitterbit hired Avner Alkhas as its new chief financial officer. He joins the API integration platform from community development services provider SAFEbuilt, where he most recently was CFO. Before that, he was director of strategy, financial planning, and analysis at Rogue Wave Software. Alkhas started his career as a certified public accountant at KPMG. There, he held roles within the firm’s audit and mergers and acquisitions practice.
