Retailer Bed Bath & Beyond has promoted CFO and treasurer Eugene Castagna to chief operating officer. He will be succeeded in his former posts by Susan Lattmann, previously vice president-finance.

Finance chief Brian West has been promoted to chief operating officer at measurement and information firm Nielsen, effective March 10, replacing Mitchell Habib. Jamere Jackson, who has held senior finance positions at General Electric for almost 10 years, will take over as head of finance.

Fitness-products manufacturer Nautilus has named Sid Nayar to the top finance spot. He has joined the company and will become CFO after it files its annual report for calendar-year 2013. Nayar comes to Nautilus from Congoleum, where he CFO and senior vice president, finance.

Spartan Motors has selected Lori Wade as its next CFO and treasurer. She has been interim CFO and treasurer since early last year.

Christopher Ripley has been appointed to lead the finance function at Sinclair Broadcast Group, effective April 2. He replaces David Amy, who has been promoted to chief operating officer. Ripley joins the company from Canor LLC, where he was founder and managing partner; before that, he was managing director of the global media group at UBS Investment Bank and head of its Los Angeles office.

Tom Tran, finance chief at WellCare Health Plans, is leaving the company but will stay on until his replacement is announced or until Nov. 30. A search for his successor is under way.

Valmont Industries has promoted Mark Jaksich to head finance, taking over from Terry McClain. Jaksich had been corporate controller at the manufacturing company.

Digital and mobile advertising technology firm OpenX Technologies has named Tom Fuelling to the top finance spot. Formerly, he led the finance function at online video service Hulu.

Dana Perry, CFO, secretary and senior vice president of finance at electrical services and products provider AZZ, will retire on May 31. He will be succeeded in those roles by Paul Fehlman, most recently vice president of finance for the engineered products division at Flowserve.
