How to Submit an Article for Consideration on CFO.com

If you would like to submit an article for consideration to be published on CFO, please read our editorial guidelines and fill out the submission form.

The basics

  • Submissions must be original and exclusive to CFO. CFO receives exclusive worldwide first rights for 30 days.
  • Submissions should be based on a timely and important issue. The pitch must add value to an ongoing discussion in the industry.
  • The best pieces will be written with purpose. They will be concise and insightful.
  • The article should be directly aimed at CFOs and other senior financial executives, such as treasurers, controllers, and chief accounting officers.
  • We reserve the right to determine whether the substance of your piece is promotional, biased, or not grounded in fact.
  • We will fact-check and edit pieces for style and clarity consistent with CFO.
  • Photos, graphics, and infographics are welcome but not required.
  • Once we accept an article for publication, the author rescinds its rights to edit the piece, but may offer clarifications and updates for consideration prior to publication. CFO editors may reach out to the author for re-writes and/or clarification.
  • CFO is not obligated to share the editorial process with the author.
  • Once the article is published, the author is free to follow up to recommend any post-publish clarifications, but CFO is not obligated to comply, outside of material factual errors that require correction.
  • We will consider all submissions, but due to the high volume of submissions, we cannot respond to each author.

If we accept the piece, we will contact you within 3 weeks of submission. If you do not hear from us within that time frame, we are no longer considering your piece for publication.
