Less than a quarter of employees in Europe are “engaged” in, or satisfied with, their jobs, according to a study by consultancy BlessingWhite. Worryingly, nearly the same percentage of workers are “disengaged.” In finance, the ranks of the engaged are barely bigger than those of the disengaged, placing them in the middle of the ten functions surveyed. Customer service staff are the most satisfied, while IT staff are the most disgruntled.
