• Fannie Mae appointed David Johnson as CFO, who is moving over from the top finance job at Hartford Financial Services Group. He replaces David Hisey, Fannie’s controller, who took over as CFO temporarily after Stephen Swad left the company last August.
• Broadcaster CBS has promoted Joseph Ianniello to deputy CFO, reporting to finance chief Fredric Reynolds. Ianniello was most recently chief development officer and treasurer for CBS. Before he came to the network he was treasurer at Viacom.
• Otto Schwethelm announced he will leave his positions as CFO and treasurer for the crude oil refinery Tesoro Corp. Gregory Wright, currently a vice president who served as the company’s CFO for more than six years, will take on the CFO duties.
• Cimetrix, a maker of factory-automation software, has named Jodi Juretich as its new CFO. Juretich, who joined the company as controller, treasure,r and secretary in May 2007, replaces Dennis Gauger who has been CFO since May 2004.
• The Reader’s Digest Association has hired Thomas Williams to be CFO. Most recently Williams held the same position at Affinion Group. He also worked at AT&T for 20 years, eventually as CFO of the Network, Customer Service & Merger Synergies division.
• Stephen Royal was appointed CFO of Copanion Inc., a tax document automation company in Andover, Mass. Royal’s latest position was CFO at OATSystems, which provides RFID software solutions.
• Michael Mancuso has been named CFO of the IT services company Computer Sciences Corp. He had been CFO at General Dynamics from 1994 until 2006. He replaces Donald DeBuck, who has served as Computer Science’s interim head of finance since February.
• William Plummer will start his term as CFO of United Rentals on December 1. Most recently he headed finance atDow Jones & Company. He was also vice president and treasurer of Alcoa and and worked at Mead Corporation and General Electric Capital Corporation. United Wells’ current CFO, Martin Welch, is leaving his position after three years but will stay with the company through the end of 2008 in a transitional role.
• Two Degrees, which owns two consulting firms, has named Mike Heffernan CFO. With 17 years experience in accounting, Heffernan comes to the Seattle-based company from Screenlife, where he served as co-president and CFO.
• The biotechnology drug company Celsion Corp. has announced that Sean Moran will serve as senior vice president and CFO. Moran has served as CFO for Anika Therapeutics, Sontra Medical, Transport Pharmaceuticals, and SatCon Technology Corporation in his 25-year finance career.
• Tom Williams, CFO of Affinion Group, announced he will leave the company after assisting in the transition to new CFO Todd Siegel, who currently serves as executive vice president and general counsel. Williamsm who has been with the company since January 2007, is leaving to pursue another opportunity.
