• Sprint Nextel named Robert Brust to replace Paul Saleh, who left the company in January with two other executives. In 2007, Brust retired from Eastman Kodak Co., where he served as finance chief and executive vice president for six years. He was also previously CFO at Unisys Corp.
• John Leahy will succeed iRobot CFO Geoffrey Clear, who will pursue opportunities at other emerging companies. Leahy has been a finance executive for more than 25 years, including a stint as CFO and executive vice president of Keane Inc. for eight years. Clear will stay at iRobot through the transition.
• The finance chief of software design company Autodesk Inc. has decided to resign from his position to spend more time with his family. Alfred Castino will stay with the company while it searches for his replacement.
• Recreational vehicle and bus maker Thor Industries has appointed Christian Farman as its senior vice president and CFO, replacing current CFO Walter Bennett, who has been promoted to chief accounting officer. Farman has served as finance chief at both private and public companies, such as Vivendi, Insituform Technologies, and Deutsch.
• Mark Tisdel has been appointed CFO for Model N Inc., a revenue-management solutions provider, where he previously served as vice president of finance. Leading finance functions has been a trademark of Tisdel’s experience over the past 20 years. He was previously vice president and corporate controller at Selectica Inc. and vice president of internal audit at Riverstone Networks.
• CFO of AmericasBank Corp. A. Gary Rever has been promoted to chief executive officer of the commercial bank after its current CEO was dismissed for undisclosed reasons. Rever joined the bank in 2003, a month after his predecessor started serving as CEO.
• Blue Holdings Inc. named Eric Hohl as its CFO, succeeding Larry Jacobs, who resigned from the fashion jeans company. Hohl begins his position immediately. He was previously CFO and executive vice president of sports apparel company Ashworth Inc.
• Artes Medical Inc., a San Diego-based company that makes injectable aesthetic products for dermatology procedures, has appointed Michael K. Green as its new CFO. Green replaces Peter Wulff, who left to work in corporate finance for commercial development firms. In his previous roles, Green served as CFO at Orchestra Therapeutics and Synbiotics Corp.
• Shad Burke, has been named permanent CFO of Outdoor Channel Holdings Inc. after serving as interim CFO for nearly five months. Burke joined the company, which runs the Outdoor TV channel, in October 2007 as chief accounting officer. Before coming to the Temecula, Calif.-based company, he served as vice president of finance and corporate controller for Dot Hill Systems Corp.
• After a 30-year career, EMS Technologies Inc.’s CFO, Don Scartz, has announced his retirement. EMS’s current vice president of finance, Gary Shell, will take over as the Atlanta-based company’s CFO, senior vice president, and treasurer. Shell has been with the wireless and satellite communications company for 25 years.
• Diamond and fine jewelry retailer Blue Nile Inc. has appointed Marc Stolzman as CFO starting June 9. He was most recently CFO of biodiesel refining and manufacturing technology company Imperium Renewables, and before that, he spent 13 years with Starbucks in roles such as senior vice president of finance, business development of Starbucks International, CFO of Starbucks in Japan and vice president of finance at Starbucks North America. He also spent six years in finance and treasury positions at Lamonts Apparel.
• RailAmerica has appointed Clyde Preslar as CFO. Preslar has served as a public company CFO for 12 years at Cott Corp. and Lance Inc.
• French oil company Total has promoted deputy CFO Patrick de la Chevardière to the CFO role. He replaces Robert Castaigne, the CFO since 1994, who retires at the end of this month. De la Chevardière had held a number of finance and operational roles in Total since joining in 1982.
• Greg O’Sullivan, finance director of Aer Lingus — the Irish low-cost, low-fares airline, has been appointed group company secretary. The company is in the process of recruiting O’Sullivan’s replacement.
• Oliver Schumy, group finance director of Mayr-Melnhof Karton, an Austrian cardboard and packaging company, has been promoted to CFO. Schumy joined the company in 1998.
• Simon Smith has been appointed group finance director of Pearl Group — the U.K. company, following its acquisition of rival Resolution.
