Steffan Tomlinson | Stripe
Steffan Tomlinson was named finance chief of Stripe. Tomlinson joins the online billing and payments company from event streaming platform Confluent, where he held the same role. Before that, he was CFO of Google Cloud and technical infrastructure. He previously was CFO at Palo Alto Networks and helped complete its initial public offering. Dhivya Suryadevara, Stripe’s former CFO, stepped down in April due to family matters. Suryadevara joined the company in 2020 after leaving her CFO role at General Motors.
Rohan Sivaram | Confluent
Rohan Sivaram was promoted to CFO of event streaming platform Confluent, effective August 16. Sivaram has worked at Confluent for the last three years, leading its FP&A, investor relations, treasury, and business operations teams. Earlier he was the senior vice president of finance at Palo Alto Networks and held various roles at Symantec and Morgan Stanley. Sivaram replaces Steffan Tomlinson, who is leaving to become CFO of Stripe.
Nelson Chai | Uber
Uber confirmed finance chief Nelson Chai is exiting the company, effective Jan. 5, 2024. The ride-hailing company has started a search for his successor. Chai joined the company in 2018 and oversaw its IPO in 2019 as well as its $2.65 billion acquisition of food delivery company Postmates in 2020. Before joining Uber, he was CEO of insurance and warranty provider Warranty Group. He previously held CFO positions at Merrill Lynch, NYSE Euronext, and Archipelago Holdings.
Mark Shifke | Digital Currency Group
Digital Currency Group (DCG), the parent company of CoinDesk, hired Mark Shifke as finance chief. Most recently, Shifke was chief financial officer of accounts receivable software provider Billtrust. He was previously CFO of mobile-banking and payments provider Green Dot. Earlier, he specialized in M&A structuring and advisory and tax asset investments at JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs. Shifke replaces former CFO Michael Kraines, who stepped down in April after two years in the role. In the interim, DCG’s finance department has been run by chief strategy officer Simon Koster.
Andy Keegan | Vista Outdoor
Andy Keegan, vice president and interim CFO for Vista Outdoor, will become CFO of its sporting goods spinoff following the transaction. The separation of Vista’s outdoor products and sporting goods product segments is planned for the fourth quarter of 2023. Keegan joined Vista Outdoor’s predecessor Alliant Techsystems in 2012. Before his current interim role, he was the CFO of Vista Outdoor’s ammunition business unit and, earlier, was vice president of corporate accounting.
Lawrence “Chip” Molloy | Sprouts Farmers Market
Sprouts Farmers Market finance chief Lawrence “Chip” Molloy will retire at the end of the year. Molloy joined the supermarket chain in 2013 as a member of its board of directors and was its interim CFO from June 2019 to February 2020. He continued to serve on Sprouts’ board before he was appointed its CFO in September 2021. The company will start an internal and external search for Molloy’s successor.
James D. Thomas | Nu Skin Enterprises
Nu Skin Enterprises named James D. Thomas as its new CFO. Thomas joined the beauty and wellness company in 2010 and has been interim chief financial officer since April 2023 and chief accounting officer since 2019. Before Nu Skin, Thomas worked as an assistant controller of the technology-enabled wellness company iFit and worked in the assurance practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Deborah Caudle | Fortescue Energy
Green energy and metals company Fortescue named Deborah Caudle the CFO of Fortescue Energy. Caudle was acting CFO of copper and nickel miner OZ Minerals before BHP’s acquisition of the company in May 2023. She joins Fortescue from BHP, where she was a finance executive overseeing integration activities. Earlier in her career, Caudle worked at Barclays investment banking, where she was director and vice president of the mining and metals sector.
Michael Manzo | Winebow
Wine and spirits importer and distributor Winebow promoted Michael Manzo to CFO. Manzo joined the company in 2012 as director of strategic development and financial analysis and was most recently senior vice president of finance and strategy. Earlier in his career, he was an equity portfolio manager and research analyst at Aberdeen Asset Management and J.P. Morgan.
