Zane Rowe was appointed finance chief of HR software maker Workday, effective June 12. Since March 2016, Rowe has been CFO of VMware. He also stepped in as interim CEO of VMware for four months in 2021. Previously he was CFO of EMC, CFO of United Airlines, and led North America sales for Apple. Rowe succeeds Barbara Larson, who is stepping back to spend more time with her family. 

Karen Dykstra | VMware

VMware board member Karen Dykstra was named CFO of the software company to replace Zane Rowe. Dykstra has been a board member since 2016 and was previously CFO of AOL, where she also stepped in as finance chief from a board role. She previously was the CFO and chief operating officer of Plainfield Asset Management and CFO of ADP.

WeWork CFO Andre Fernandez will resign on June 1 after less than one year in the role. Before joining the workspace provider, Fernandez was chief financial officer of enterprise software provider NCR. The resignation comes days after WeWork’s CEO Sandeep Mathrani said he was leaving the company to work at a private equity firm. Kurt Wehner, WeWork’s chief accounting officer, will take over as finance chief. Wehner joined the company in 2020 and was previously accounting chief at media firm Discovery.

Chris Wheaton | RealNetworks

Chris Wheaton was named president, chief operating officer, and chief financial officer of digital media company RealNetworks. Most recently, Wheaton spent four years as chief operating officer and CFO at device management company Bsquare. He previously held dual chief operating officer and CFO positions at EnerG2 Technologies and Pacific Science Center.

Joyce Liu | TripleLift

Ad tech platform TripleLift named Joyce Liu as its new finance chief. Liu was most recently CFO of Politico and, before that, she spent 12 years at research and advisory company CEB, most recently as head of global finance. Earlier, she was vice president of FP&A at US Foods, director of FP&A at Marriott International, and senior financial analyst at Yum Brands. 

Jennifer Fall Jung | The Duckhorn Portfolio

The Duckhorn Portfolio hired Jennifer Fall Jung as the wine company’s new chief financial officer. Fall Jung was most recently CFO of pop culture collectibles company Funko, a role she held for almost four years. She previously spent 21 years working for clothing retailer Gap, where she held several positions, including CFO of Old Navy, CFO of Gap North America, and CFO of Gap Outlets.

Wise’s CFO Matt Briers is stepping down in March 2024 to make a full recovery from a cycling accident he was in last year. Briers has been CFO of the U.K.-based money transfer app for the last eight years. He joined the company from Google, where he was head of sales finance for the U.K. The company has started a search for Briers’ replacement.

John Stellato | Hydrow

Hydrow promoted CFO John Stellato to president of the smart rowing machine company. Stellato joined the company’s executive team last year as chief financial officer and chief investor relations officer. Before joining Hydrow, Stellato was president and chief executive officer of LOYAL3, an online broker-dealer and investment platform. Earlier, he was executive vice president of The Pritzker Organization, where he worked for nearly 20 years.

Prashanth Mahendra-Rajaho

Prashanth Mahendra-Rajah | Analog Devices

Prashanth Mahendra-Rajah is stepping down as CFO of semiconductor company Analog Devices to explore other opportunities. Mahendra-Rajah joined the company as finance chief in 2017 from commercial vehicle technology supplier WABCO, where he held the same position. Prashanth will stay with Analog Devices through the end of the fiscal year. The company has started a search to find its next CFO.

Daniel Lentz | BigCommerce

Daniel Lentz will take over as finance chief of e-commerce platform BigCommerce on July 1. Lentz has worked at the company for almost five years, most recently as senior vice president of finance and investor relations. He previously worked as a senior director of business operations at RetailMeNot and spent seven years at Proctor & Gamble, most recently as manager of global treasury. Lentz replaces Robert Alvarez, who is retiring after 12 years as CFO.

Conversational marketing and sales platform Drift named Tim Redfern as chief financial officer. Redfern previously held progressive finance roles as senior vice president, executive vice president, and CFO for records and information management provider, Access. Before Access, he worked at digital learning company Skillsoft for 18 years, most recently as senior vice president of global field operations.

Bryan Shin | Bonchon

Bonchon promoted global CFO Bryan Shin to chief executive officer. Shin joined the fast-casual Asian fusion dining chain as head of global finance in 2019. He previously worked in various global leadership and senior positions with Goose Island Beer Company, Yum! Brands, and CJ Foodville.
