Kenny Cheung
Foodservice distribution company Sysco named Kenny Cheung as CFO, effective April 17. Cheung joins Sysco from rental car company Hertz, where he has been CFO since 2020. He was an integral part of the team that led Hertz through its restructuring and Chapter 11 emergence in June 2021, which later resulted in a re-IPO in November 2021. Before joining Hertz in 2018, he spent over a decade at Nielsen Holdings, most recently as global chief audit executive. Cheung replaces Neil Russell, who has been interim CFO since January 2023. Russell has been appointed to the newly created position of chief administrative officer.
Alexandra Brooks
Hertz appointed Alexandra Brooks as the rental car company’s interim CFO to replace Kenny Cheung, who is leaving the company to become CFO of Sysco. Brooks has been senior vice president and chief accounting officer of Hertz since October 2020. She joined the company in 2015 from technology company Aptiv, where she was vice president of internal audit. Before joining Aptiv, she was CFO of home improvement company Champion Windows and Home Exteriors.
Erica Gessert
Upwork hired Erica Gessert as its new chief financial officer. Gessert joins the freelancing platform from PayPal, where she has held a number of senior leadership roles since 2015, most recently chief transformation officer and senior vice president of finance and analytics. Before PayPal, Gessert worked in a variety of roles for Sprint, including vice president of finance for Sprint postpaid marketing and chief financial officer for the Sprint prepaid business unit, as well as director of investor relations.
Helen McCabe
Rolls-Royce CEO Tufan Erginbilgic replaced the company’s finance chief as part of the British engineering company’s turnaround strategy. Helen McCabe, currently BP’s senior vice president of finance for its customers and products division, will replace Panos Kakoullis as CFO. Kakoullis will leave the company at the end of August after two years as chief financial officer.
Anastasiya Pasterick
Electric truck maker Nikola promoted Anastasiya Pasterick, the company’s vice president and corporate controller, to finance chief. Before joining Nikola in 2019, Pasterick held several financial leadership positions, including director of accounting operations at Erickson and corporate controller at nLIGHT, where she led all financial aspects of the company’s IPO. She started her career at KPMG where she worked in audit for seven years. Pasterick succeeds Kim Brady, who is retiring.
Tom Panther
Tom Panther was named CFO of global business payments company FleetCor. Panther was previously finance chief of EVO Payments before its acquisition by Global Payments. Before that, he worked at SunTrust Banks for nearly 20 years in various leadership roles including chief accounting officer, corporate controller, senior vice president of corporate finance, and head of capital planning and analysis. Panther replaces Charles Freund, who left the company in October 2022 to become CFO of payments and technology company Fullsteam. Chief accounting officer Alissa Vickery took ever as interim CFO when Freund departed and will return to her previous role when Panther joins in May.
Brandon Nussey
Artificial intelligence startup Coveo named Brandon Nussey as CFO. Nussey joins the company from global commerce platform Lightspeed Commerce, where he has been chief operating officer since May 2022. Nussey was previously finance chief at Lightspeed for four years. Earlier, he held chief financial officer roles at SaaS-based education technology provider D2L and logistics and supply chain technology company Descartes Systems. Nussey succeeds Jean Lavigueur, who is retiring after 17 years with the company.
Leslie Stroope
Cielo hired Leslie Stroope as its new chief financial officer. Stroope joins the talent acquisition company from EmployBridge, where she was vice president of finance and sales and operations CFO. She has a background in the industrial staffing, pharmaceutical, financial services, and manufacturing sectors. Stroope previously spent seven years at Fidelity Investments in several finance leadership roles including director of finance.
