Microsoft Corp. has promoted Amy Hood to the top finance spot, effective immediately. She replaces Peter Klein, who will stay on until the end of June to aid in the transition. Hood, who has worked at Microsoft since 2002, was CFO of the company’s business division.
Daniel Henry, who has been finance chief at American Express Co. since 2007, is planning to leave the company. He will remain CFO until his replacement has been hired.
The Wendy’s Co. has named Todd Penegor to lead the finance function. Penegor, now president of the U.S. snacks division of Kellogg Co., will start at Wendy’s in June and take over as CFO on September 1 upon the retirement of Steve Hare.
Aerospace and defense contractor AAR Corp. has appointed John Fortson to head finance. He will join the firm on July 1 as vice president of finance and will become CFO and treasurer once AAR files its Form 10-K. Most recently, Fortson was managing director, investment banking, at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
NGL Energy Partners LP has promoted Atanas Atanasov to the top finance spot. Atanasov, who has been at the company since 2011, had been senior vice president of finance and treasurer.
CFO Joseph McNeely has been promoted to president and chief operating officer at FreightCar America Inc. A search is under way for his successor; in the meantime, McNeely will continue to head finance at the company.
Real estate investment trust FelCor Lodging Trust Inc. has promoted Michael Hughes from senior vice president, finance, and treasurer to CFO and treasurer, effective July 1. He takes over from Andrew Welch, who is leaving the firm.
Saba Software Inc. has named Mark Robinson to lead the finance function. He is a former CFO of Calypso Technology Inc., Discus Dental and Q Comm International.
Peter Mitchell has been named finance chief at silver and gold producer Coeur d’Alene Mines Corp., effective June 3. Previously, he held the top finance spot at Taseko Mines Ltd.
Construction, water management and drilling firm Layne Christensen Co. has appointed James Easter to head finance. He replaces Jerry Fanska, who announced last December that he would retire. Easter is a former CFO of SEH Offshore Ventures and of Seahawk Drilling.
