Wade Davis has been promoted to the top finance spot at Viacom. He replaces Jimmy Barge, who will leave the firm after a transition period. Davis had been executive vice president, strategy and corporate development.
Wireless distribution firm Brightstar Corp. has named Thomas Seifert to head finance. He succeeds Dennis Strand, who has been appointed president of a new business unit, Brightstar Financial Services. Most recently, Seifert was CFO at Advanced Micro Devices.
Food retailer The Fresh Market has announced that finance chief Lisa Klinger has resigned, effective December 7. Chief operating officer Sean Crane will serve as interim CFO while the company searches for Klinger’s successor.
Michael Scarpa has been named to lead the finance function at children’s specialty apparel retailer The Children’s Place Retail Stores Inc. He takes over from Steven Baginski, who is leaving the company. Scarpa joins the firm from The Talbots, where he was CFO and chief operating officer; before that, he was chief operating officer at Liz Claiborne.
CareTech Solutions, which provides IT services to hospitals, has named Robert Johnson CFO. He formerly headed finance at Palace Sports & Entertainment.
Ignite Restaurant Group has appointed Michael Dixon to the top finance spot. He succeeds Jeffrey Rager, who is resigning. Dixon is a former CFO of Pinkberry and of Cheesecake Factory.
Online retailer Bluefly has named James Gallagher finance chief. He comes to the company from Vertro, where he was also CFO.
