CFOs on the Move: Week Ending June 8

Scientific-instrument provider Bruker named Charles Wagner Jr. to the top finance spot. He replaces William Knight, who will remain a member of the senior management team. Wagner, a member of the board of directors at Bruker since 2010, is a former CFO and executive vice president of finance and administration at Progress Software.

Mary Boland was named chief financial and administrative officer at retailer American Eagle Outfitters, effective July 9. Previously, she was senior vice president of finance for the global Levi’s brand at Levi Strauss & Co.

CFO David Nord was promoted to president and chief operating officer at electrical-products manufacturer Hubbell. In turn, the company promoted William Sperry to the top finance spot. Sperry, who has been at the firm since 2008, had been vice president, corporate strategy and development.

Business-process services firm Synnex announced that finance chief Thomas Alsborg plans to retire on or about the end of November. A search for his successor is under way.

Wesco International named Kenneth Parks to lead the finance function. He comes to the company from United Technologies, where he was vice president of finance for the fire and security business.

Dan Arnold, managing director and head of strategy at LPL Financial, was promoted to CFO, effective June 15. He succeeds Robert Moore, who earlier was promoted to president and chief operating officer.

Lisa McCarthy was promoted to CFO and senior vice president, finance, at Yankee Candle. She takes over for Gregory Hunt, who resigned. McCarthy had been controller and vice president, finance.

Walter Energy appointed William Harvey to the top finance spot, effective July 9. He replaces interim principal financial officer Robert Kerley, who will continue as chief accounting officer and corporate controller. Harvey is a former CFO of Resolute Forest Products.

Business-development firm Kohlberg Capital named Edward Gilpin to lead the finance function. Gilpin, who takes over from Michael Wirth, previously was CFO of Associated Renewable.

Stephen Webster was named to head finance at Optimer Pharmaceuticals. Most recently, he was CFO of Adolor before it was sold to Cubist Pharmaceuticals.
