Ray Young has been named finance chief at Archer Daniels Midland Co. He replaces Steven Mills, who has been promoted to senior executive vice president, performance and growth. Young, who has joined the company but will not take over from Mills until December 1, is a former CFO of General Motors Co. and most recently was its vice president, international operations.
Country-store and restaurant operator Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Inc. has promoted CFO Sandra Cochran to the posts of president and chief operating officer. A search is under way for her successor; in the meantime, chief legal officer N.B. Forrest Shoaf has been named interim CFO.
Mark Guinan, chief procurement officer at Johnson & Johnson, will become head of finance at Hill-Rom, effective December 13. He will take over at the medical-technology manufacturer and provider from Greg Miller, who has served as CFO since 2005.
Charter Communications Inc. has named Christopher Winfrey to lead the finance function. He comes to the broadband-communications firm from German company Unitymedia, where he was CFO and managing director.
John Scanlon has been promoted to the top finance spot at Intersections Inc., an identity risk-management services provider. He had been chief operating officer, business services, and executive vice president of strategic growth at the company.
Real-estate brokerage ZipRealty Inc. has promoted David Rector to be its new CFO. He succeeds Lanny Baker, who has been promoted to CEO. Rector was finance chief of the company from May 2007 until December 2008, and has been chief accounting officer and controller since then.
Gregg Clevenger has been appointed to head finance at business-to-business provider GXS Inc. He replaces John Duvall, who will stay on as senior vice president of finance. Most recently, Clevenger was CFO of solar-technology firm Infinia Corp.
EZCORP Inc., a pawn-shop operator, has named Stephen Stamp CFO. Previously, he led the finance function at KV Pharmaceutical Co.
Software-as-a-service provider AppRiver LLC has promoted Robert Davis to the top finance spot. Davis, who has been at the company since 2007, had been vice president of finance and operations.
