Ellen Rizzo is the new CFO of the property-and-casualty business at The Hanover Insurance Group. She comes to the firm from The Travelers Cos., where she had been CFO of business insurance since 1999.
FairPoint Communications Inc. CFO Alfred Giammarino has resigned from the company for personal reasons. Corporate controller Lisa Hood, who has been at the company since 1993, has been named interim CFO.
Consumer-products company CSS Industries Inc. has appointed Vincent Paccapaniccia to lead the finance function. He succeeds Clifford Pietrafitta, who has resigned. Paccapaniccia joins the company from ICT Group, where he most recently was executive vice president, finance and administration, and CFO.
Michael Schwien has been named finance chief of technology provider Bamboo Solutions Corp. Formerly, he was vice president of finance at Overwatch Systems Inc.
CFO Thomas Stankovich has resigned his post at Response Genetics Inc. Vice president of finance and administration Eric Alcom will take on his responsibilities until a permanent replacement is found.
Christian Schade has been named executive vice president of NRG Energy Inc. and will take over the top finance spot in May, replacing Gerald Luterman, a member of the board of directors who has been interim CFO since November. Previously, Schade was head of finance at Medarex.
Logistics-services and freight-transportation provider Pacer International Inc. has named John Hafferty to lead the finance function. He replaces Brian Kane, who will stay on through early June to aid in the transition. Hafferty is a former CFO of the international division of Ozburn-Hessey Logistics.
David Dahlquist has been promoted to finance chief at Park Electrochemical Corp. He joined the firm in 2006 and has been vice president of business development since 2008.
