• Bruce Kiddoo has been promoted to CFO and principle accounting officer for Maxim Integrated Products after serving as vice president of finance since August 2007. Kiddoo replaces Alan Hale, who was brought on to lead the company through a complicated financial restatement.
• GenomeQuest has hired Deirdre Aubuchon as its first CFO. Before joining the sequence informatics company, she was the CFO and chief operating officer at Deploy Solutions and previously was finance vice president at ZEFER.
• General Growth Properties CFO Bernard Freibaum has been fired and replaced with Edmund Hoyt, who will serve on an interim basis. Hoyt has been senior vice president and chief accounting officer since 2000 and with the company since 1986. The real estate investment trust will search for a permanent replacement.
• John Sheehan was hired to serve as CFO for Delphi Corp., replacing Robert Dellinger, who is leaving to pursue other options. Sheehan will oversee the company’s restructuring.
• Danvers, Mass.-based Abiomed Inc. announced in a regulatory filing last week that CFO Daniel Sutherby resigned from his position on October 1. The company has tapped corporate controller Ian McLeod to take over the role an interim basis.
• The segment book publishing company Author Solutions has named Kevin Gregory as its CFO. Gregory has spent 19 years at public companies including the last seven as a finance chief. His most recent CFO stint was with Pomeroy IT Solutions.
• Paul Hagan, the former CFO of Reliance Bancorp, has been named interim head of finance at Carver Bancorp, the holding company for Carver Federal Savings Bank. Most recently, Hagan was an executive at Community National Bank.
• The CFO of bank holding company Corus Bankshares, Tim Taylor, resigned and will replaced by chief accounting officer Michael Dulberg. Taylor had been with the company as finance chief since 1996. The company also has created the position of chief operating officer, which will be filled by vice president of finance Rick Koretz.
• The United States Bowling Congress has appointed Susan Merrill as its CFO. Merrill had been corporate controller of AmeriCold Logistics, which provides refrigerated warehousing. She was also a controller for eight years at KHOU-TV in Houston.
• Steven Erwin has been named CFO of HealthMarkets Inc. With 30 years of finance experience under his belt, Erwin’s most recent role was CFO for 21st Century Insurance Group. Before that he was CFO of HealthNet Inc.
