• Automatic Data Processing has appointed Christopher Reidy chief financial officer. He will assume his new role no later than October 2. Most recently, Reidy was the controller and chief accounting officer of AT&T. He also has been CFO of AT&T’s two largest operating groups, Business Services and Consumer Services, as well as finance chief of NBA Properties. He started his career with Price Waterhouse, and later became a partner at Deloitte and Touche.
• The U.S. Postal Service has named Harold Glen Walker chief financial officer. He replaces Robert Pedersen, who served as acting CFO since Richard Strasser retired on April 3. Pedersen will return to his position of treasurer. Walker, the former CFO of Invensys Control, was also finance chief of Whirlpool Corp.’s international operations.
• TiVo has hired Steve Sordello to be the digital television technology company’s senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective August 21. He replaces Stuart West, who served as acting CFO, and will leave the company to pursue another opportunity. Most recently Sordello was executive vice president and chief financial officer of Ask Jeeves. Prior to that, he held senior positions at Adobe Systems and Syntex.
• Bowne and Co. has selected John Walker to be the company’s new senior vice president and chief financial officer. He will begin his tenure at the financial and marketing communications company in September. Prior to his appointment, Walker was senior vice president, CFO, and treasurer for Loews Cineplex Entertainment. He also held various senior finance positions at Corporate Property Investors and Princess Hotels International, and was an auditor at Price Waterhouse.
• Lakeport Brewing Income Fund has promoted Karen Trudell to chief financial officer. She has been serving as the fund’s interim CFO since May. Prior to joining Lakeport, Trudell held senior level finance positions at Cott Beverages Canada and Pepsi-Cola Canada.
• Evans and Sutherland Computer has announced the resignation of acting Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary Lance Sessions, effective August 21. Sessions resigned from the simulation technology company for personal reasons. His positions will be filled by Paul Dailey, currently CFO of E&S subsidiary Spitz Inc.
• Interactive marketing company AKQA has appointed Tim Pierce chief financial officer. Prior to joining AKQA, he served as CFO at SBI Group, which acquired Razorfish, Scient/iXL, Lante, and MarchFirst.
• Clinical Data has tapped C. Evan Ballantyne to be the company’s senior vice president and chief financial officer. He replaces Israel Stein who was the company’s interim CFO. Ballantyne was most recently senior vice president and finance chief of ZymeQuest. Before that he was CFO of Knowledge Impact, and chief operating officer of ACNielsen. He also held audit positions at Dun and Bradstreet.
• TeleTech Holdings has named John Troka interim chief financial officer, replacing departing CFO Dennis Lacey. Lacey has resigned to accepted a position with Republic Financial Corp. The business process outsourcing company is conducting a search for a permanent finance chief, and Troka will be considered as a candidate. Troka was the company’s vice president of global finance.
• Spectrum Gaming Group has hired Michael West to be the company’s chief financial officer. Previously he headed the accounting and tax preparation firm that he founded. Spectrum is a consultancy and newsletter publisher for the international gaming industry.
• Iomed has promoted Chief Accounting Officer Brian Mower to chief financial officer. Prior to joining the company in 1999, Mower held various audit and accounting positions with KPMG. Iomed develops, manufactures, and markets drug delivery systems.
• Spine Wave has named Carmen Diersen chief financial officer. She is the former CFO of American Medical Systems. Prior to that, Diersen was vice president of finance and administration at Medtronic, and held several senior financial management positions at Medtronic’s international subsidiaries. Diersen also held financial management positions at Honeywell. Spine Wave develops and markets clinical products for spinal repair.
