Former Cabot Corp. EVP and CFO Robert Culver was named VP of finance and administration of Yale University in New Haven. Culver had been CFO of Cabot from 1997. He resigned from the carbon-black producer last month. Culver is not new to education administration. He was SVP and treasurer of Boston’s Northeastern University before joining Cabot, and in the early 1970s worked for the Cambridge, Mass., school department. His degrees include an MA from the London School of Economics and a Harvard MBA.

Graphite and carbon products maker Ucar International Inc. said CFO Craig Shular was named EVP of the Nashiville-based firm’s graphite power systems division. Chief information officer Corrado DeGasperis was appointed VP and CFO. DeGasperis will also keep his job as CIO.
