- Out Of This World: Space.com, a Web site devoted to space- related subjects, named former CFO John Ferrara CEO, replacing founder Lou Dobbs who is set to return to AOL Time Warner Inc.’s news network CNN’s Moneyline. Dobbs will remain chairman of the board of the company. The business journalist had quit CNN in June 1999 to start New York-based Space.com. Ferrara had joined the company in November 1999 as CFO and was promoted to president and COO in March.
- A New Vision: Methode Electronics Inc., a Chicago-based maker of optical subsystems, announced that Dale W. Phillips has resigned as the company’s CFO for personal reasons. Phillips will remain a director of the company and act as a consultant. Douglas A. Koman has been promoted to the position of VP of corporate finance.
- Opening the Gate: Sangate Systems, a Southborough, Mass.- based producer of enterprise storage appliances, announced the addition of Frank Cusick as CFO. Most recently, Cusick was corporate controller for Equipe Communications Corp.
- One Great Leap For CFO Kind: HighJump Software, formerly Data Collection Systems, appointed Robert Hiben to the CFO post. Hiben joins the Minneapolis-based supply chain management company from Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Funco, a video game retailer where he was CFO.
