  • Meanwhile, on Planet Earth: Internet media company said CFO John Ferrara will add the role of acting COO in a management reshuffle as the New York-based company, devoted to space- related content, works toward profitability. The company also laid off nine workers, adding to the 22 layoffs it made in September.
  • Helen Lee was a compelling choice for Internet service provider Cogent Communications Inc. The Washington, D.C.- based firm appointed her to the CFO post. Lee joins the company from private equity firm Audax Group Inc.
  • Top Brass: Recruiting services provider BrassRing Inc. named Richard Goldman as its new CFO and treasurer. Goldman joins the Waltham, Mass.- based firm from TechOnLine Inc., where he was CFO. He replaces Keith Taylor, who resigned.
  • Take a Bow: E-business software maker Bowstreet Inc. named Jay Adams to the post of VP of finance. Adams joins Bowstreet from Lucent Technology‘s software products group, where he was CFO.
  • Natural gas producer Energy Search Inc. is searching for a new CFO. Robert Remine resigned as finance chief of the Knoxville, Tenn.-based firm. Controller Mitzi Anderson will take over as acting CFO.
