- That’s Show Biz: Tinseltown is abuzz following word that Viacom CFO Fredric Reynolds plans to resign. According to a report in The Hollywood Reporter, which had Viacom officials among its sources, Reynolds will leave his New York-based position for personal reasons but will continue to work in California for the company in a capacity yet to be determined. Reynolds, a former Westinghouse Electric Corp. executive, presided over the company’s sale to CBS Corp. and, more recently, its sale to Viacom. “He wants to spend more time with his family in California,” Viacom spokesman Carl Fulta told CFO.com, adding that the 50-year-old Reynolds will stay at his CFO post for “however many months it takes to find somebody.”
- As the new finance chief of Maverick Tube Corp., Pamela Boone is one of a kind. The St. Louis-based tubing manufacturer’s corporate controller and acting CFO was named CFO and VP of finance. She replaces Barry Pearl, who resigned in December.
- A Comfortable Home: Homebuilder KB Home named Thomas Conforti SVP and CFO. Conforti joins the Los Angeles- based firm from EMind.com LLC, where he was president and COO.
- Losing Braun-ie Points: Business consulting firm Braun Consulting Inc. said CFO Jack Burke resigned. SVP of corporate development Tom Schuler and SVP of finance Anne Zaczek will split the finance responsibilities until the Chicago firm finds a permanent replacement for Burke.
- In the Vault: Mobile platform company Vaultus Inc. appointed Albert J. Macchioni as CFO. He joins the New York- based firm from SVP and CFO of USAData.com Inc.
- A Secure Connection: Network security firm Secure Computing Corp. promoted CFO Timothy McGurran to the posts of president and COO. Treasurer and director of investor relations Timothy Steinkopf will succeed McGurran as CFO at the San Jose- based company. Inc FY99, McGurran earned $702,000 in salary and exercised $101,000 in options.
