Consol Energy Inc., a coal producer in Pittsburgh, Penn., announced that it named William Lyons CFO, effective December 1. Lyons, who has worked for Consol since 1976, most recently as controller and VP, was also named SVP. He replaces Michael Nemser who resigned from his position as VP and treasurer on July 31. In 1999, Nemser earned $92,460 in annual salary, $253,000 in bonus, and $4,800 in all other compensation.

APW Ltd., an electronics parts manufacturer in Waukesha, Wis., said it will name Michael Duffey CFO and SVP. Duffey held the same titles at Norcross, Ga.-based M.A. Hanna Co., a maker of specialty polymers, where he worked since 1994.
- Semiconductor equipment maker, Credence Systems Corp. in Fremont, Calif., announced that Dennis Wolf has resigned as EVP and CFO for health reasons. The board named John Detwiler, the company’s finance VP and corporate controller, to temporarily act as CFO until a permanent replacement is found.
- See It Now:
Fitel Technologies, Inc., a developer of fiber optic and optoelectronics solutions, named Jean Beadle as its CFO. Beadle joins Clinton, N.J.-based Fitel, from Dialogic Corporation, an Intel Company based in Parsippany, N.J., she served as corporate controller and principal accounting officer since 1997.
