- Carlos Alberini is stylin’ and profilin’. The CFO of Footstar Inc. is stepping into a new office at Guess? Inc. He’ll be president and COO of the Los Angeles-based clothing and accessories firm effective December 11. The Mahwah, N.J.-based footwear retailer is searching for his successor. Alberini made $874,000 there.
- Proper Bostonians: Money manager Boston Private Financial Holdings Inc. announced management changes within its group of companies, including the promotion of Walter M. Pressey. Pressey, who is executive VP and CFO of Boston Private Bank & Trust Co., will become president and CFO of Boston Private Financial Holdings. In addition, Mark D. Thompson, executive VP and treasurer of the bank, was promoted to the bank’s president. He will also continue as treasurer.
- Mac Daddy: Vaughn Clarke has been appointed executive VP and CFO of mortgage buyer Freddie Mac. Clarke had been serving as interim CFO since March. Before that, he was SVP of finance. Clarke joined the McLean, Virginia-based quasi-governmental corporation in 1998 from Viacom Inc., where he was SVP and treasurer.
- The Secret’s Out: Even scantily- clad super models couldn’t keep VP and CFO Michael Newman at intimate apparel and personal-care products retailer Intimate Brands Inc., which runs the Vicoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works chains. Newman said he was leaving the Columbus, Ohio-based company to pursue personal interests: “I am in the fortunate position of being able to make a life choice…I am resigning in order to emphasize family and pursue other personal and community interests,” he said in a statement. Intimate Brands has launched a search for his successor.
- Casting Call: The new president and CEO of Stereo Vision Entertainment, veteran movie executive Robert L. Friedman, is looking for a CFO for the new public company. Beverly Hills, Calif.-based Stereo Vision is a multimedia production and technological development entertainment company. Friedman has had stints as president of Columbia Pictures, executive VP of United Artists, and, most recently, president of AMC Entertainment Motion Picture Group. He has been behind such films as Apocalypse Now and Annie Hall. Stereo Vision is also looking for a COO.
- Robert Champagne is pouring the bubbly to celebrate his new gig as executive VP and CFO of Friede Goldman Halter Inc. Before joining the Gulfport, Miss.- based maker of equipment for the maritime and offshore energy industries, Champagne was a partner at KPMG.
