- Entre vous: Thomas Prescott Russo was named CFO of EntreMed Inc., a Rockville, Md.-based biotech firm. The former CFO of Electronic Trading Solutions Inc. replaces R. Nelson Campbell, who resigned. Campbell was CFO of EntreMed since 1997. He made $189,000 last year.
- In Cahoots: John Fallini was named CFO of Cahoots Inc., a Brisbane, Calif., builder of a live Web-based communications network. Fallini joins the company from Butterfields, an online fine-arts auctioneer, where he was COO.
- Nu-Nucentrix CFO: Nucentrix Broadband Networks Inc. announced the appointment of J. David Darnell as SVP and CFO of the company. Darnell joins the Plano, Texas, company from ILD Telecommunications Inc., where he was CFO.
- Hungarian Rhapsody: Klaus Hartmann was named CFO of Matav, a Hungarian telecommunications service provider. Hartmann joins Matav from Deutsche Telekom, where he held various positions, most recently senior advisor to the CFO.
- Out-foxed? Beijing-based search engine Sohu.com Inc. said CFO Tom Gurnee will leave by the end of the year. Gurnee will be replaced by VP and controller Derek Palaschuk. The announcement came despite the company’s report of narrower losses compared with the previous calendar year. In case you were wondering, “Sohu” means “search fox.”
