- AT&T Corp. called on John Adams to take the role of VP and CFO of AT&T Business Services,. He joins AT&T from consultancy Electronic Data Systems Corp., where he was corporate VP and controller.
- Open Market Inc. is opening its doors to new CFO Edward M. Durkin. He joins the Burlington, Mass.-based E-business application provider from Internet infrastructure firm Randview Software, where he was CFO.
- In Search of Lucidity: Telecommunications equipment maker Lucent Technologies announced changes its finance department under CFO Deborah Hopkins. VP of planning and business analysis Mark White was named SVP and corporate controller. SVP and corporate controller Jim Lusk has been named president of business services, a newly-created department that will manage Lucent’s critical financial processes, including asset management and customer ordering.
- Looks like Howard Bain would rather be in the vicinity of home these days. He resigned as CFO of Internet marketing firm Vicinity Corp. to spend more time with his family, according to the Sunnyvale, Calif.- based company. Vacinity plans to hire a recruiting firm in the next three to five weeks to find a replacement.
- A Uniter, Not a Divider? Unify Corp. appointed Dave Adams to the corporate controller and acting CFO position of the Sacramento, Calif.-based software company. Former acting CFO and COO Todd Wille was named president and CEO. Former CFO Gary Pado resigned November 1, to “pursue other interests.” The company also said in a statement that Pado had been on administrative leave since July 31. Former president and CEO Reza Mikailli had also been on administrative leave since that time, pending an investigation into the company accounting practices. on November 1, Unify announced that it had terminated Mikailli.
