- Taylor Made: New York-based women’s apparel retailer AnnTaylor Stores Corp. announced the promotion of CFO Barry Erdos to COO and senior EVP. Erdos replaces Patricia DeRosa who resigned as president and COO of the company in January. Prior to joining AnnTaylor, Erdos was COO of apparel retailer J. Crew Group Inc. and at different times was CFO of clothing retailer Limited Inc. and its plus-size unit Lane Bryant. James Smith, who previously served as AnnTaylor’s VP and controller, will replace Erdos as CFO and take the title of SVP. In 1999, Erdos earned $360,820 in salary and $369,500 in bonus. In that same year, Smith took home $153,433 in salary and $65,152 in bonus and other compensation.
- Doctor’s Orders: Robert Farnham was promoted to the posts of VP and CFO at hospital chain Health Management Associates Inc. Farnham, who been with the Naples, Fla-based firm for more than 15 years, replaces Stephen Ray, who is leaving the company to pursue personal interests after serving six years as CFO. In 1999, Ray took home $200,000 in salary and $170,164 in bonus and other compensation.
- The Best of Health: Healthaxis Inc., a provider of Web-based software for healthcare payers, named John M. Carradine as CFO. Carradine will focus on strategic planning, investor relations, treasury functions, and financial management among others for both East Norriton, Pa.-based Healthaxis Inc. and its wholly-owned unit, Healthaxis.com Inc.
- A Most Intelligent Move: Teligent Inc., a provider of broadband communications, named Peter T. Garahan vice chairman and CFO. Most recently, Garahan served as COO of Amteva Technologies Inc., a Glen Allen, Va.-based provider of voice-enhanced services software. Garahan replaces John C. Wright who is leaving Vienna, Va.-based Teligent to pursue other business interests.
