- Safe Choice: Santa Clara, Calif.-based computer security software maker, Network Associates Inc., named Stephen Richards as CFO, effective immediately. He was formerly CFO and SVP for strategic development at E*Trade Group Inc., and online brokerage and banking company based in Menlo Park, Calif.
- Things are brightening up at utility holding company, Allegheny Energy Inc.. It recently named Bruce Walenczyk SVP and CFO, effective May 1. He succeeds Michael Morrell, who made the switch to president of Allegheny Energy Supply, the Hagerstown, Md.-based company’s unregulated generation and trading unit. Most recently, Walenczyk served as VP of finance for PSEG Energy Holdings Inc., a subsidiary of Public Service Enterprise Group Inc., a Newark, N.J.-based public utility company.
- Calgary-based Cancoil Integrated Services, Inc., a supplier of drilling and service operations, struck it big when they hired Dell Chapman as VP and CFO. Chapman most recently served as VP of finance and CFO of Stellarton Energy Corporation.
- From Mayor to CFO: Recourse Technologies, Inc., a Redwood City, Calif.-based provider of threat management solutions, appointed Robert E. McNamara to SVP and CFO. McNamara joins Recourse from EBDirect, Inc., a San Francisco-based Internet provider of medical benefits procurement for small businesses, where he was VP and CFO. In addition to his corporate experience, McNamara has also served as mayor of Menlo Park, Calif.
- Memphis, Tenn.-based ThoughtWare Technologies Inc., a workforce life-cycle management company, was thinking smart when it hired Mike Havill as CFO. He joined ThoughtWare Technologies from NeTraverse, where he managed all financial disciplines for the application services and software solutions provider. Before that, he was CFO of Dyntec Inc., a dental practice management company.
- In His Prime:
Primarion, a Tempe, Ariz.-based provider of broadband Ics, appointed Randy Buness as CFO. Prior to joining Primarion, Buness served as CFO for public technology companies Three-Five Systems, and Cerprobe Corporation, where he played a key role in sale of the company in late 2000. Earlier in his career, Buness served as a principal at Ernst & Young.
- Integrated Silicon Solutions, Inc. announced that it named a new CFO, after its former president and CFO Thomas Endicott was killed in a car accident on March 18. The company’s COO and president Gary Fischer will assume the additional role of CFO. Fischer joined the Santa Clara, Calif.-based maker of high performance memory semiconductors in 1993 as VP and CFO. He has been EVP since 1995.
