Thomas D. Cunningham, a former managing director at J.P. Morgan and Co., is banking on Microban International Ltd.. He’s been named EVP and CFO of New York-based provider of antimicrobial protection for consumer products. Cunningham’s appointment completes the staffing of the company’s new global management team begun last year following the acquisition of Microban Products Co.
Made it Through the Portal: Internet business portal designer Verity Inc. named Todd Yamami to the new position of CFO. Yamami joined Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Verity in 1995, and was most recently the company’s VP, corporate controller, and chief accounting officer.
David C. Meek is weaving a new fabric for his career. The CFO of Westpoint, Ga.-based textile company WestPoint Stevens Inc. resigned to pursue other opportunities. Meek, a former managing director of Sun Trust Equitable Securities, joined WestPoint Stevens in November 1999 to help the company go private. The board abandoned that plan in June after rejecting a $1.03 billion leveraged buyout from Holcombe T. Green Jr., WestPoint’s chairman and CEO. The company expects to name a new CFO soon.
Vodavi Technology Inc., a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based business telecommunications company, called in David A. Husband to be its CFO. Husband takes over the finance responsibilities previously managed by president and CEO Greg Roeper. Prior to joining Vodavi, Husband served in various executive positions at Phoenix-based Action Performance Companies Inc. and as a manager at Arthur Andersen LLP.
Joining ViryaNet Ltd.’s Workforce is Albert Gabrielli. The Southborough, Mass.-based provider of wireless workforce-management applications appointed him to the position of CFO. Most recently, Gabrielli served as CFO at ZipLink Inc., a provider of wholesale Internet connectivity services. Gabrielli replaces former CFO Yoram Bibring, who has had long-term intentions of pursuing opportunities closer to his home in New Jersey.
