- Moving Day: Glen Allen, Va.-based surgical-supplies distributor Owens & Minor named Jeffrey Kaczka as SVP and CFO. Kaczka most recently served as CFO for Allied Worldwide Inc., a moving services and van line logistics company. Before that, Kaczka served as CFO for I-Net Inc., in Bethesda, Md., and played a lead role in selling and integrating the company with Wang Laboratories.
- A Matter of Logistix: Fremont, Calif.-based ArcSoft Inc., a provider of digital imaging software and networks, named William E. O’Connor executive VP and CFO. Previously, O’Connor served as EVP and CFO of Logistix, a provider of global supply chain integration services. O’Connor has also held CFO positions at SmithKline Beecham Plc and Catalina Marketing Corp., and senior finance positions at Xerox Corp.
- Making a Name For Herself: The J. Jill Group Inc., a Quincy, Mass.-based retailer of women’s apparel, announced that CFO Olga Conley has been promoted to the newly established position of president of corporate services, effective immediately. Conley, will retain her title of CFO and remain responsible for managing the company’s financial and information systems. Prior to joining J. Jill, Conley served as corporate controller of Project Software & Development Inc., a developer and provider of project management and maintenance software. In 1999, Conley took home $192,500 in salary, $63,000 in bonus, $22,072 in other compensation and $321,997 in exercised options.
- A New Ingredient: Cambrex Corp., a maker of chemicals and ingredients for the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, announced that VP and CFO Douglas MacMillan will retire on May 31. MacMillan, who will remain with the East Rutherford, N.J.-based firm through year-end as an advisor to the company on financing and other issues, will be replaced by Salvatore Guccione. Guccione, currently SVP of corporate development, has been with Cambrex since 1995. Prior to joining Cambrex, Guccione was with International Specialty Products Corp. from 1987 to 1995 in several senior positions including director of M&A and corporate development.
- He’s For Real: LivePerson Inc., an application service provider, announced that Tim Bixby has been promoted to the position of president and CFO. Bixby had been CFO of the New York-based company since June 1999. Prior to joining LivePerson, Bixby was VP of finance for Universal Music & Video Distribution, a manufacturer and distributor of recorded music and video products.
- All in the Family: Greenwich, Conn.-based home fragrance maker Blyth Inc. announced that Robert Barghaus was named as its CFO. Former CFO Richard Browning was named president of company’s Candle Corp. Worldwide. Barghaus had recently joined Blyth as VP of financial planning.
