- Under Lock and Key: Bethesda, Md.-based defense and aerospace group Lockheed Martin Corp. named Christopher Kubasik as CFO, replacing Robert Stevens, who was named president and COO last October. Kubasik was Lockheed Martin’s controller since November 1999. Before that, he was a partner at accounting firm Ernst & Young LLP. Stevens had been acting as both COO and CFO during the company’s search for a permanent CFO.
- From Soup to Soul: Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc., a New York-based integrated content company, named James Follo CFO, effective immediately. The company said Follo, senior VP of finance and controller, succeeds Helen Murphy, who resigned from her position to rejoin the music industry as executive VP and CFO of Warner Music Group. Follo, 41, has been with Martha Stewart since July 1998. In 1999, Murphy took home $134,469 in salary and $607,500 in bonus.
- Stop the Music: Warner Music Group, a division of Dulles, Va.-based AOL Time Warner, announced that as previously agreed, Jerome N. Gold will leave his position of executive VP and CFO. Gold will be a consultant to Warner Music Group.
- Accept No Substitutes: Beltsville, Md.-based Biospherics Inc. named Richard Levin as its new CFO and VP of administration. The biotech firm, which makes a sugar substitute for hypoglycemic patients, said Levin has been with the company for 10 years. His title is a newly established position.
- Quality Service: VenServ Inc., an Agoura Hills, Calif.-based provider of web-based product financing solutions, announced that R. Jeff Macartney has joined the company as CFO. Prior to joining VenServ, Macartney was controller for Pitney Bowes Financial Services in Stamford, Conn.
- New Venue for David Berger: New York, N.Y.-based marketing firm VNU Inc., announced that Berger has joined the company as CFO. Before joining VNU, Berger spent the last 9 years at New York-based Simon & Schuster, where he was most recently SVP of finance and development.
- Picture This: Valhalla, N.Y.-based medical imaging and diagnostic systems maker Del Global Technologies Corp., announced Thomas V. Gilboy as CFO. Thomas Gilboy was most recently CFO of Hauppauge, N.Y.-based Microwave Power Devices, a supplier of signal amplification equipment for wireless base stations. Gilboy’s appointment came along with several other executive announcements including the resignation of Del Global CEO, president, and chairman Leonard A. Trugman. The firm also announced the promotion of Carole Murphy to the post of corporate controller. Murphy had been serving as manager of financial reporting.
