CFOs on the Move: Week Ending August 9

Jeffrey Bairstow has been appointed to the top finance spot at Time Inc., effective September 3. He will take over from Howard Averill, who has been named CFO of Time Warner Inc. Most recently, Bairstow was president of Digital First Media.

Revlon Inc. has named Lawrence Alletto to head finance, effective no later than October 31. He will also become chief administrative officer following the retirement of Robert Kretzman. Formerly, Alletto was managing director of the investment banking department at JPMorgan Chase & Co., as well as global head of the financial sponsors group.

Real estate investment trust Potlatch Corp. has appointed Jerald Richards to lead the finance function, effective September 1. He succeeds Eric Cremers, who has been promoted to president and chief operating officer. Previously, Richards was chief accounting officer at Weyerhaeuser Co.

Steve Young has been promoted to finance chief at Duke Energy Corp. He takes over from Lynn Good, who became president and CEO last month. Young had been controller and chief accounting officer, posts he had held since 2005.

Universal Insurance Holdings Inc. has named Frank Wilcox CFO and principal accounting officer, effective October 1. He will also become CFO of wholly owned subsidiaries Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Co. and American Platinum Property and Casualty Insurance Co. Wilcox, who replaces George De Heer, formerly was vice president-finance.

Corrugated and consumer packaging manufacturer RockTenn has appointed Ward Dickson to the top finance spot, effective September 16. He is now senior vice president of finance in the global sales and service division at Cisco Systems.

PharMerica Corp. has named David Froesel Jr. CFO and treasurer. Froesel, who has been interim CFO at the institutional pharmacy-services firm since April, formerly headed finance at Omnicare Inc.

Shelly Schaffer has resigned as finance chief of Inc., effective next month. A search for her successor at the cloud-based services and software provider is under way; in the meantime, principal accounting officer and assistant treasurer Ido Sakal will become interim CFO.
