Wendy Schoppert has been promoted to the top finance spot at mattress designer and manufacturer Select Comfort Corp., effective June 6. She replaces Jim Raabe, who has resigned. Schoppert, currently chief information officer, has been at the firm since 2005.

Homebuilder PulteGroup Inc. has appointed Robert O’Shaughnessy to lead the finance function, effective May 31. He takes over from Roger Cregg, who is retiring. Most recently, O’Shaughnessy was CFO of Penske Automotive Group.

David Jones is the new CFO at Penske Automotive Group, succeeding Robert O’Shaughnessy (see previous item). Jones, who joined the automotive retailer in 2003, was serving as CFO of its European operations.

CFO Matt Appel has added chief administrative officer to his title at jewelry retailer Zale Corp. He has been at the company since 2009.

A123 Systems Inc., a manufacturer and developer of lithium ion batteries and battery systems, has named David Prystash finance chief. He is a former CFO of NewPage Corp. and held several posts at Ford Motor Co., including CFO of its global product development and purchasing.

E. Lee Wyatt has resigned as head of finance at HanesBrands, effective June 30. Dale Boyles, chief accounting officer and controller, will take over as interim CFO until a permanent replacement for Wyatt is found.

Space Exploration Technologies Corp., which develops and manufactures spacecraft and launch vehicles, has appointed Bret Johnsen to the top finance spot. Previously corporate controller and principal accounting officer at Broadcom, most recently he was CFO of Mindspeed Technologies.

Richard Yonker plans to retire from Vitesse Semiconductor Corp. once a successor is named and a period of transition is finished. He has served as CFO since he joined the company in 2006.

Advance America, Cash Advance Centers Inc., has named James Ovenden finance chief, effective May 23. He replaces Patrick O’Shaughnessy, who was promoted to chief executive officer in March. The principal consultant with CFO Solutions of SC LLC, Ovenden is a former CFO of AstenJohnson Holdings Ltd.
