• In a shakeup of its management and business structure, UBS said finance chief Marco Suter will resign and be replaced in September by John Cyran, now the head of the Swiss bank’s financial institutions group.
• Cereal maker Kellogg Company has given John Bryant, CFO of Kellogg North America, the additional position of chief operating officer for the parent company. Bryant, who joined Kellogg in 1998, will retain his existing CFO post as well.
• The diversified IT services company Analysts International Corporation has hired the vice president of finance and controller at Ceridian Corporation, Randy Strobel, as its CFO. Before coming to Ceridian, Strobel was vice president of finance for Mesaba Aviation.
• Less than three months after Darin Holderness joined Eagle Rock Energy Partners as CFO, he resigned because he didn’t want to relocate his family from Dallas to Houston, where the company is based. Holderness was at Eagle Rock for only one quarterly filing. Alfredo Garcia, the company’s senior vice president of corporate development, will serve as interim CFO.
• The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority named Stan Van Ostran CFO. He previously was comptroller for the Oklahoma Lottery Commission, where he directed all financial operations. Before that he was CFO for the Oklahoma Capitol Improvement Authority.
• Brett Burford became CFO for Craftmade International on August 13. He had been finance vice president at Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverage after serving as vice president of strategic planning. He also served as finance director for the Associates Insurance Group.
• Craig Calle was appointed vice president, finance of the Digital Media division of Amazon.com. Before joining the online retailer, Calle was the corporate treasurer and vice president, finance of the Professional and Direct segments of computer maker Gateway Inc.
• Platinum Energy Resources announced that Lisa Meier will be its CFO and treasurer. Since April 2004 she had been CFO for Flotek Industries.
• Data aggregation company Kurtosys appointed Mike Loo as its finance chief. Loo has financial leadership experience from IPO and post-IPO companies. He was formerly CFO of Certus and executive vice president and CFO of Applicast.
• Torrance, Calif.-based software-as-a-service company LiveOffice has named Frank Sansone as CFO. He is the first CFO at the company, which creates e-mail archiving solutions. Most recently he was CFO at Guidance Software.
