EGL, a global freight forwarder and logistics provider that operates under the name EGL Eagle Global Logistics, announced that chief financial officer Charles H. Leonard has resigned.
The company gave no reason for Leonard’s departure, which came less that a year after he joined EGL.
Previously, Leonard was finance chief of Transport Holdings, a privately held transportation and logistics provider. Earlier, he was senior vice president and CFO of the general partner of TEPPCO Partners, a petroleum storage, transportation, and marketing company.
In its statement, EGL also announced a number of promotions within its executive ranks. Among them: the appointment of Michael D. Slaughter to the position of chief accounting officer. His duties will include the strategic, global management of all financial information and procedures, including planning, auditing, risk management, reporting, and compliance.
Slaughter, who previously served as vice president of finance and investor relations, has also held other financial positions with the company.
