• RadioShack has named James Gooch executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective August 16. Most recently, Gooch was executive vice president and chief financial officer of Entertainment Publications. He also served in various corporate finance positions at Kmart and subsequently Sears Holdings, including stints as vice president, controller, treasurer, and vice president of corporate financial planning and analysis. He also held financial management posts at Helene Curtis and The Quaker Oats Company.
• Jo-Ann Stores has promoted chief accounting officer James Kerr to executive vice president and chief financial officer. Previously, Kerr served as controller of the fabric and craft retailer. Her also served as a corporate finance manager at The Limited, Revco D.S, and was an audit manager for Arthur Anderson.
• Medical device manufacturer and distributor HealthTronics has announced that senior vice president and chief financial officer John Barnidge will resign effective August 10, to pursue other business interests.
• Akeena Solar has named David Wallace chief financial officer. Wallace has served as CFO and controller as several companies, including O’Neill, Brown-Forman, and Dow Jones. Akeena Solar is a solar power system.
• BioPassword has appointed Chris Dukelow chief financial officer. Before joining the security software company, Dukelow was chief operating officer of Escapia, and held corporate finance and operational positions at Aventail, Saros—where he was CFO—Entricom, Burlington Environmental, Stars Children’s Wear, and Coopers and Lybrand.
• Plum Creek Timber has announced that company chief financial officer William Brown has resigned to become president of Green Diamond Resource. Plum Creek is currently considering candidates to succeed Brown.
• VistaPrint has named Harpreet Grewal executive vice president and chief financial officer. His appointment will take place no later than October 2. Before joining the online graphics design company, Grewal held several CFO posts, most recently with GoldenSource. Before that, he served as CFO at eGain Communications and the North American Fountain Beverage division of Pepsi Cola North America. He also held positions at Bankers Trust and Wasserstein Perella and Co.
• Frederic Boyer, chief financial officer of Qualstar, will resign from the data storage system manufacturer, effective August 18. He has accepted a position with another company. Qualstar has begun recruitment efforts to replace Boyer. President and CEO William Gervais will assume the additional position of interim CFO until a successor is appointed.
• Delta Apparel has promoted Deborah Merrill to chief financial officer. She retains her title as treasurer of the company. Previously, she served as accounting officer. Prior to joining Delta Apparel, she was logistics controller for GNB Technologies, and an auditor for Deloitte and Touche.
• Chemical Consortium Holdings has tapped Arthur de Joya to be the alternative fuel company’s chief financial officer. He is the co-founder of accounting firm De Joya Griffith and Co, and has been an auditor with KPMG.
• Cernium has appointed Robert Latchford chief financial officer. Before joining the video surveillance system maker, Latchford was CFO of Claraview. He also held financial executive positions with Biosynexus, Pedestal, and Federal City Capital Advisors.
• US Oncology has named Richard McCook executive vice president and chief financial officer. He succeeds Bruce Broussard, who was promoted to the position of president. Prior to joining the cancer treatment and research company, McCook served as the executive vice president and chief financial officer of Raytech, and as senior vice president and CFO of Winn-Dixie Stores. He was also a senior manager in KMPG’s audit practice.
