• Sporting goods retailer Foot Locker Inc. has promoted vice president and chief accounting officer Robert W. McHugh to senior vice president and chief financial officer. He succeeds Bruce L. Hartman, who resigned to take a position at another company. McHugh joined New York-based Foot Locker in 1997 as vice president of taxation, and has been chief accounting officer for the past six years. Divisional vice president and controller Giovanna Cipriano will succeed McHugh as chief accounting officer.
• Ameritrade Holding Corp. named assistant treasurer Michael D. Chochon to the position of treasurer. He succeeds Randy MacDonald, who previously served as treasurer in addition to his continuing roles as chief financial officer and chief administrative officer at the Omaha, Nebraska-based financial services company.
• Dale Black has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer of Trump Entertainment Resorts Inc. He takes over for interim finance chief Frank McCarthy, who will continue as executive vice president and controller. Black joins Atlantic City-based Trump after 12 years at Argosy Gaming Co., where he was senior vice president and CFO since April 1998.
• Tyco International Ltd. announced that ombudsman Rick Baran has taken the position of chief financial officer for Earth Tech, a business unit of Tyco’s Engineered Products & Services division. He will be succeeded by Noriko Ellen Okamoto, the assistant general counsel of Tyco Electronics, effective January 1.
• Richard K. Reece will join Atlanta-based lighting fixture specialist Acuity Brands Inc. as senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective December 1. Most recently, Reece was vice president and CFO of cable manufacturer Belden CDT Inc. Karen J. Holcom, who been serving as Acuity’s interim finance chief, will continue in her roles of vice president and controller.
• Milwaukee-based water heater manufacturer A.O. Smith Corp. named Terry M. Murphy senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective January 1. Murphy has been vice president of finance and CFO of Quanex Corp. since 1999.
• Recreational equipment manufacturer Johnson Outdoors Inc. named David W. Johnson vice president and chief financial officer. Johnson was interim CFO at the Racine, Wisconsin-based company since August. He joined the company in 2001 and was most recently director of treasury services and financial analysis.
• Los Angeles-based Southwest Water Co. named Walter J. Bench as its new treasurer. He succeeds O’Donnell Iselin, who left for a position with another company. Before joining Southwest Water, Bench was assistant treasurer at Conexant Systems Inc. for seven years.
• Douglas J. Townsdin, vice president of finance and chief financial officer of Lowrance Electronics Inc., is leaving the Tulsa, Oklahoma-based company, effective December 16. He’ll become a partner at the Tulsa office of Grant Thornton LLP.
• Seattle-based digital media specialist Loudeye Corp. promoted vice president of finance Chris Pollak to chief financial officer. He succeeds Ron Stevens, who resigned to join a local venture-backed start-up.
