- Dow Chemical Co.‘s Fernando Ruiz has great chemistry with CFO J. Pedro Reinhard. The former corporate director of insurance and risk management and assistant treasurer of Midland, Mich.-based chemicals firm has been named VP and treasurer effective August 1, 2001. Ruiz will continue to be responsible for Dow’s insurance and risk management group. He succeeds Geoffery E. Merszei who has elected to leave the company, effective August 31, to pursue other professional interests.
- Good News: Newspaper publisher Knight Ridder Inc. appointed of Margaret Randazzo VP and controller of the San Jose, Calif.-based company. She is currently VP and CFO of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, part of the Knight Ridder group. She will report to CFO Gary Effren.
- Camden, Maine-based Camden National Corp. is banking on Gregory A. Dufour. The bank holding company appointed him to the newly created position of SVP of finance. Dufour most recently was managing director of finance at Ibex Capital Markets Inc., where he served as a member of the company’s executive operating oroup, as well as chairman of its investment committee.
- Salt of the Earth: Seattle-based systems-integration firm Saltmine Inc. named Wayne Schattenkerk to the CFO post. Schattenkerk is co-founder of Suncast Communications Inc. and former Waechter Lufkin VP.
