From Today’s Proxies: Du Pont’s CFO Nabs Nearly $900,000

  • E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company’s SVP and CFO G.M Pfeiffer earned $411,600 in salary, $475,000 in bonus, and $12,258 in all other compensation, according to the company’s recently released proxy filing. Total Compensation: $898,858. In the previous year, Pfeiffer earned $370,400 in salary, $443,000 in bonus, and $10,911 in all other compensation at the Wilmington, De.-based chemical company. For 2000, the company earned $2.3 billion on revenue of $29.2 billion, compared to $7.7 billion on $26.9 billion in sales in 1999.
  • TB Woods Corp.’s VP of finance Thomas F. Tatarczuch took home $132,000 in salary, $45,000 in bonus, and $8,709 in other compensation in the year 2000. Total Compensation: $185,709. In the previous year, Tatarczuch earned $40,917 in salary, $7,500 in bonus, and $62,337 in other compensation at Chambersburg, Penn.-based maker of power-transmission devices. In 2000, the company’s net income grew 14.5 percent to $6.1 million from $5.4 million in 1999. Sales rose 7.2 percent to $134.4 million, compared to $125.3 million a year earlier.

In the previous year, Levy earned $360,000 in salary, $250,000 in bonus, and $86,921 in all other compensation at the Morristown, N.J.-based public utility holding company. GPU’s net income for 2000 was $233.5 million, or $1.92 per share, against $459 million or $3.66 per share in 1999.

Israel earned $164,300 in salary and $57,505 in bonus, according to the most recent proxy filed by the Southfield, Mich.-based chemical company.Total Compensation: $221,805. In the previous year, Israel earned $155,000 in salary. The company’s earnings tripled to $3.4 million on sales of $85.7 in 2000. In 1999, the company earned $1.1 million on sales of 90.4 million.
  • EFC Bancorp Inc.’s EVP and CFO James J. Kovak earned $183,667 in salary, $35,000 in bonus, and $19,210 in all other compensation, according to the company’s recently released proxy filing.
