- Nelson Murphy answered the call from AT&T Latin America Corp. The telecom company named him to the CFO post. Murphy was previously VP of finance for AT&T’s global network services and international operations.
- George W. Not a People Person? People’s Bank announced that CFO George W. Morriss is resigning to pursue other interests. General counsel William Kosturko will take on interim CFO responsibilities at the Bridgeport, Conn.-based bank.
- Bobby Duncan is going global as the new CFO and COO of U.S. Global Investors Inc. He succeeds David Clark as CFO. The San Antonio-based investment management firm did not give details on Duncan’s previous positions but said he has spent 15 years in the mutual fund industry.
- Great Scott: Broadband service provider Network Access Solutions Corp. named Mark Scottas its new finance chief. Scott joins the Herndon, Va.-based firm from Teltronics Inc., where he was VP of finance and CFO. He succeeds Scott Yancey, who is leaving the company.
- A Prescription for Change: Biopharmaceutical firm Hyseq Inc. said CFO Mark Gitter is leaving the firm to “pursue a new challenge. The Sunnyvale, Calif., firm did not name a successor.
